Candis Hicks

CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE, MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING

Candis Hicks has been working in women’s health since 1999. Initially aspiring to be a labor and delivery nurse, she worked with a Nurse-Midwife during nursing school and quickly realized this was to be her new goal. After finishing nursing school, she focused on becoming a CNM. Candis saw a need for women to have more choices with less intervention while prioritizing healthy outcomes for moms and babies.

She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2001 with her Master's in Nursing and has been caring for women in Dallas and Fort Worth ever since. Her commitment to providing evidence-based care while also supporting women and their families shines through in her day-to-day practice. For over 23 years, Candis has strived to create an environment in which women feel heard and understood, in order to build trust with their provider. She is excited to be joining the amazing team at Midwife + Co, knowing their philosophies are so well matched. Candis enjoys the midwife-led care that the company has to offer.

Candis and her husband have five young adult children. They love to travel, go to concerts, and spend time with their kids when they’re home from college. And you likely won’t meet a bigger Wicked: The Musical fan in all of DFW!
